Licensing Fraud
Two recent articles published by
The Toronto Star shed light on
the way criminal elements are
able to sell stolen vehicles to
unsuspecting consumers. The
first article, published on
December 9, 1998, explains how
these thieves take advantage of
loopholes at licensing office in
order to register stolen cars.
The second one, from December
10, 1998, suggests that those
buying from sources other than
registered dealers should take
extra steps to ensure they are
not buying stolen cars.
