Ontario's Safety and Consumer
Statutes Administration Act
provides for the creation of
administrative authorities for
regulated
business sectors: motor vehicle
dealers and salespersons, real
estate agents and brokers, and,
travel agencies and tour
operators. These administrative
bodies are responsible for the
delivery of programs and
services to these industries
and their consumers, services formerly regulated by the
Ministry of Consumer and
Commercial Relations (now
Ministry Consumer Services).
Several administrative
authorities exist:
Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry
Council,
Real Estate Council of Ontario,
Travel Industry Council of
Ontario,
Vintners Quality Alliance of
Ontario,
Board of Funeral Services,
Technical Standards and Safety
Authority,
Electrical Safety Authority
and
Tarion.
