Consumers having problems with a new vehicle may seek the assistance of the Canadian Motor Vehicle Arbitration Plan (CAMVAP). CAMVAP assists consumers resolve disputes (at no cost) with an automobile manufacturer regarding the quality of their vehicle or regarding the manufacturer's implementation of their warranty requirements. Most import and domestic vehicles purchased or leased privately within Canada are eligible, provided they are of the current model-year or four model-years prior. Arbitration outcomes are final, and participants waive their right to subsequent civil action. This service is available to consumers across Canada.
