Annual Reports and Business Plans

OMVIC publishes an Annual Report summarizing its activities, accomplishments and financial overview. Each year, the Business Plan is published and summarizes OMVIC’s intended initiatives and goals for a period of three years. Starting in 2004, OMVIC's Business Plan was combined with its Annual Report and published as one document.


Auditor General’s Value-for-Money Audit

OMVIC has received the value-for-money audit report completed by Ontario’s Auditor General. OMVIC welcomes the recommendations outlined in the report and acknowledges the challenges and gaps that must be addressed to administer the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act (MVDA), 2002 and uphold relevant sections of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), 2002 in the most effective way possible.

As the regulator for motor vehicle sales in Ontario, OMVIC’s mandate is to protect consumers and uphold industry professionalism. We appreciate the work of the Auditor General of Ontario and the opportunities presented in this report for further improvement. OMVIC also acknowledges and appreciates the oversight of the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services and commits to continue working in a collaborative manner to implement the recommendations.
