Automotive Certification Course
OMVIC's Certification Course is the first mandatory program for dealers and salespersons in Canada. New applicants for registration must complete the OMVIC Certification Course which is offered through the Automotive Business School of Canada (ABSC) at Georgian College in Barrie.
Individuals who successfully pass the Automotive Certification Course and become registered with OMVIC as well as current registrants who successfully complete the MVDA Key Elements Course earn and are entitled to use the designation “C.A.L.E. – Certified in Automotive Law and Ethics.”
MVDA Key Elements Course
The MVDA Key Elements course is designed for dealers, managers, and salespeople who have not previously taken the OMVIC Certification Course (i.e. those registered before 1999) and for those who did not take the Certification prior to 2010, when the new MVDA was introduced.

- MVDA Key Elements
- Automotive Sales Language Preparation
ABSC also offers a variety of other courses useful to those working in the industry.
OMVIC offers comprehensive educational seminars for dealers and salespeople related to the MVDA and its advertising and disclosure requirements.

OMVIC’s industry newsletter, The Dealer Standard, provides ongoing communication with the dealer/salesperson community. Written features promote education and awareness by reporting OMVIC activities and industry news and events.
Bulletins are issued on an ad hoc basis to make dealers and salespeople aware of current topics or issues. These Bulletins are meant as timely and important reminders/warnings to stem trending non-compliance.
