The Motor Vehicle Dealers Act (MVDA) sets out specific information related to a vehicle’s past use, history and condition that MUST be disclosed. These disclosures must be clearly, comprehensibly and prominently written on the contract and be presented in a timely manner so the customer can review them before signing the contract.
There are sophisticated vehicle history reports available to all consumers, so it is in a dealer’s best interest to know the history of the vehicles they offer for sale or lease and make proper disclosure to any customer.
