Due to changes implemented by credit card processing companies, beginning October 13, 2018, dealers and salespeople who submit a registration application/renewal/transfer by mail, email or fax, and who want to pay the related registration fees by Visa or MasterCard, will be required to provide the CVV number found on the back of the credit card.
For security reasons, providing a CVV number on a physical application/renewal/transfer document is prohibited; therefore, registrants submitting physical documents and wanting to make payment via credit card will need to:
- complete the credit card payment section on the application/renewal/transfer document (without the CVV code) and a representative from OMVIC’s registration department will contact the registrant by telephone for the CVV number;
- make the payment in person at OMVIC’s office. Note: In addition to Visa and MasterCard, debit, cash and cheque payments are accepted at OMVIC’s office.
Applicants and registrants may also mail or courier application/renewal/transfer documents with a cheque or money order to OMVIC’s office. Do not send cash by mail or courier.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Dealership renewal, salesperson renewal and salesperson change applications that are submitted using OMVIC’s online services are NOT affected by this payment processing change. To sign up for online services click here.
