Due to the current Canada Post labour disruption and rotating work stoppages, mail to and from OMVIC may be delayed resulting in delays processing applications, renewals and transfers as well as delays in the delivery of registration certificates and renewal notices.
As OMVIC requires an original business application (i.e. physical documents), new dealer applicants should courier the documents, or deliver them in person, to OMVIC’s head office, 65 Overlea Blvd. Suite 300, Toronto, M4P1H1.
Individual salesperson applications can be emailed to registration@omvic.on.ca or faxed to 416-223-3701. The status of an application (including those submitted by mail) can be checked here.
Registrants awaiting a Registration Certificate (and others) can confirm Registration status online.
If necessary, dealers and salespeople may call OMVIC to request a copy of their certificate be faxed or emailed. If urgent, certificates can be picked up at OMVIC’s head office. Please call (1-800-943-6002x3941) to confirm the certificate is available. Note: photo identification is required to pick up a Registration Certificate.
Registration Renewal Notices may be delayed during the postal disruption. Registrants are reminded to carefully track when their registration expires and to take extra precautions to ensure renewals reach OMVIC in time to complete the renewal process. The best way to accomplish this is to use OMVIC's Online Services for Dealers and Salespeople
Dealers and salespeople who are online members can renew their registration online. Additionally, Salesperson Change Applications can also be processed online.
Online renewals can be submitted up to 60 days before the registration expiry date. To become an online member, follow the steps below:

- Click on “Registrant Login” and verify your identity by completing the application
- Create a username and password
- OMVIC will send an email with an activation link to confirm information and complete online registration
