How to Handle Contract Cancellations? OMVIC’s New “Help for Dealers” Resources Can Help!
Enhancing industry professionalism and ensuring fair, honest open competition for dealers are two of OMVIC’s stated strategies in fulfilling its mandate of maintaining a fair and informed marketplace.
Launched today, the new Help for Dealers campaign supports those strategies by providing resources and information that will help dealers, managers and salespeople better understand and comply with the MVDA.
The campaign resources include five educational videos (2 -3 minutes in length) and a supporting toolkit. The topics covered reflect the five communications/educational priorities identified in a survey of more than 3,000 registrants.
Hosted by ‘Vic’, an MVDA expert, each of the five animated videos and includes a live-action dramatization. The topics covered are:
- All-in price advertising
- Contract cancellation
- Disclosing collision repairs
- Disclosing vehicle condition and needed repairs
- Disclosing negative equity on bills of sale
Also Included in the campaign is a multi-faceted downloadable toolkit that provides easy to understand resources including:
- Fact sheets
- Advertised price calculators
- Advertising compliance templates
- A negative equity calculator to help dealers educate consumers
- Posters to educate and inform customers
OMVIC encourages dealers and salespeople to leverage the campaign - use the videos to refresh knowledge, the calculators to help ensure all-in price advertising compliance and the posters to educate customers.
