OMVIC is alerting dealers and salespeople about an alleged dangerous thief stealing high-end vehicles.

A well-dressed male, posing as an interested buyer, has stolen several late-model luxury vehicles — three Mercedes-Benz and a Porsche — in what appears to be a series of brazen day-time thefts across the Greater Toronto Area including Oakville, Concord, Toronto and North York.

Alleged Car ThiefFour affected dealers, one of whom sustained serious injuries including a broken arm while trying to prevent a theft, told OMVIC the alleged car-thief walked into the dealership between 4 and 6 p.m., asked to see a vehicle and to subsequently start it. The man then locked the doors of the vehicle and drove away. In one instance, it is believed the suspect may have been carrying a knife. The victims have all filed reports with their local police service.

All four affected dealers have identified this individual as the alleged thief:

OMVIC believes the suspect should be treated as armed and dangerous – if encountered, dealers should immediately call 911. Anyone with information about the thefts should contact their local police service.
