The 2018 Canadian International AutoShow kicks off at noon this Friday, February 16 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Planning to attend the show? Be sure to stop by OMVIC’s booth (800 level, South building next to the escalators and food court) - our team will be onsite and ready to answer all your car buying questions! The AutoShow runs until 6 pm Sunday, Friday 25.
OMVIC has re-launched its “All-in Price Advertising” campaign to educate Ontario consumers about their rights as car buyers. Consumers should never be charged more than a dealer’s advertised price for a vehicle, except to add HST and Licensing Fees or the cost of options the consumer requested. If a salesperson includes additional fees on the bill of sale, outside of the advertised price, walk away, shop elsewhere and report the dealer to OMVIC’s Inquiries & Complaints Team: 1-800-943-6002 x3942.
To remind you that OMVIC is here to help with your car buying experience, we have created a branded keychain for all consumers who visit our booth at the 2018 CIAS. Not only is this keychain handsomely stylish – yes, we are biased - it’s also multi-purpose, serving as a tire tread-depth gauge!
Not sure if you need new winter tires? Use OMVIC’s new keychain to check your tread wear. And once the snow finally stops falling and the warmer temperatures arrive (above 7 degrees celsius), you can check the tread depth of your summer tires as well! The warning line lets you know when you should consider replacing your tires.
As the regulator of motor vehicle sales in Ontario, OMVIC protects consumers and maintains a fair and informed marketplace by:
