Friday, August 26, 2016
Ontario’s vehicle sales regulator, OMVIC, advises consumers and dealers that Club Autohaus Inc. located at 14 Stafford Drive, Brampton is no longer registered to buy, sell or lease vehicles.
The dealership’s licence lapsed in June 2016 and OMVIC has issued a Proposal to Refuse to Renew the dealer’s registration, due to allegations the dealer failed to disclose materially important information about the history of vehicles it sold and concerns about the dealership’s financial integrity. In spite of this, OMVIC has learned the dealer allegedly continues to take deposits and sell vehicles, even though it is unable to transfer the vehicles into the purchasers’ names.
Note: The Proposal is subject to appeal to the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT)
Consumers are warned not to buy or lease vehicles from, or sell or consign vehicles to, Club Autohaus Inc. or its sole officer and director Ravinder Gawri; consumers who trade with an unregistered business or individual may not be protected by the Motor Vehicle Dealers Compensation Fund. The Fund protects consumers who suffer a financial loss (of up to $45,000) as a result of a trade (purchase/lease/sale/consignment) with a registered dealer.
Publication of this information is made pursuant to Section 27(2) of the General Regulations of the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act and is intended protect the public.
