Take a Picture (30-second Radio Commercial)

Take a Picture, the newest consumer awareness campaign from OMVIC, Ontario’s Vehicle Sales Regulator, is designed to empower consumers and ensure they don’t pay any extra or hidden fees when they buy a vehicle because All-in Price Advertising is not only a car-buyer’s right, it's also the law in Ontario. OMVIC’s campaign encourages car-buyers to take a picture of their dealer's advertisement and bring it with them to the dealer. When consumers have a copy of the ad, it will help them protect themselves if a dealer tries to add extra fees. Here’s how All in Pricing Advertising works. If a dealer advertises a price for a vehicle (new or used), the price must include ALL fees and charges the dealer intends to collect (except HST and licensing). Examples of fees or charges that must be included in an advertised price: Freight PDI-PDE (pre-delivery inspection/expense) Administration fee(s) Government levies (air tax, etc.) OMVIC fee Safety and e-test (unless the ad contains an "Unfit Vehicle" or "As-Is Vehicle" disclosure statement) Products or services that have been pre-installed on a vehicle To learn more about All-in Price Advertising, visit: omvic.ca
